The cost of a school meal is £2.90 per day
Free School Meals
Who can recieve free school meals?
Children and young people who live in Kirklees can apply for free school meals if they:
- attend full time at a local authority school or sixth form
- are under 19 years of age
and their parents or carers receive one or more of the following:
- Universal Credit (provided you have an annual net earned income of no more than £7,400, as assessed by earnings from up to three of your most recent assessment periods)
- Income support
- Income Based Job Seekers Allowance
- Income Related Employment and Support Allowance
- Child Tax Credit, but are not entitled to a Working Tax Credit and your annual income (as assessed by Her Majesty’s Revenue and Customs) is less than £16,190
- Support under Part V1 of the Immigration and Asylum Act 1999
- Guaranteed element of State Pension Credit
If you are eligible, even if you don’t wish your child to have school dinners, it’s worth registering as school gets funding to support your child, which helps with things like trips and equipment.

Parent Pay
ParentPay allows parents to easily and securely manage payments to the school for lots of different services. Pay for school trips, dinner money etc, without sending your child into school with cash.
Through ParentPay, you will also be able to view what your child has had for lunch each day.
We have machines in the dining hall for cash payments for school dinners only.

Breakfast Club
In partnership with Magic Breakfast we offer a FREE daily breakfast club for all our students!
Students can join us in the canteen between 7:30-8:20am to get a free breakfast and get their day off to a good start. Bagels, cereal and juice are on offer daily.
